Count To Ten…
When you believe in, adopt, and practice this important spiritual exercise, you will improve the interactions you have with others. However, this daily practice requires you to discipline your ego, which of course, is an easier said than done kind of a task!
When you converse with others, your spouse, a family member, or a friend, for example, decide ahead of time to fully listen to what they have to say. Just remain quiet, and listen!
Then, count to ten!
When you do that, you establish a few things.
First, those few seconds will help you to deactivate your ego’s automatic reaction to lash out, control the conversion, or say the last world. Then, once your ego is not allowed to react, you create a space that would bring to the forefront the calm and wise nature of your higher self/soul, which will “take over” and inspire you to react and respond in the right manner.
Remember that “ego” is not just a word. It is a real entity, an energy field that resides within our physical body alongside another energy, the one of our higher self. In life, we must be mindful as to which energy we “feed” and therefore strengthen!
If we do not do the necessary daily work that is required to discipline our ego, it’s energy will strengthen and so will its negative and destructive ways which will create a less likely opportunity for us to use our higher self.
Counting to ten, is one of the many different exercises that you can train yourself to do in order to weaken your ego’s negative grip on your life. However, once you do that, you will create a new life; one that is governed by the magical wisdom of your higher self.
