MEDITATION
If you put too many rules on mediation and think too much about how you need to do it: with your eyes close or open, sitting or laying down, breathing in a certain way, or expecting to visualize, feel, hear, or see something or someone specific, you take the simplicity out of the whole concept.
Meditation simply means that you need to quiet your mind from its constant thinking in order to enjoya true relaxation and serenity!
I understand that trying to quiet the mind is something that is easier said than done! However it is important to understand that in order for you to successfully meditate you must practice and stay consistent! Do not give up, be impatient, or get frustrated! Expecting a successful meditation without practice is like expecting a toned body without the gym…
As to how you meditate depends on finding out what works best for you! The trick is to stay simple and not to try too hard! Music, following a guided meditation, listening to nature, observing nature, feeling the energy within the physical body, praying, or simply reflecting on your life in a positive way, are all effective and simple techniques that will anchor you to the present moment and help you to successfully meditate!
