Angel and Devil…
Hi everyone,
Throughout our Earthly lives there are two entities that occupy our physical body. Both of these entities have their own energy field and personality, if you will. They are our soul and our Ego. It always reminds me of the cartoons where the character has an Angel and a Devil standing on top of each shoulder… whispering in each ear!
The human mind is of course an amazing instrument that is needed in order for us to function in our daily lives, however the negative part of the mind, the ego, is the one that is capable of great destruction to ourselves and to others. Our own demon within!
The ego, although destructive and causes life to be quite miserable, is there by design. It is there for us to use for our spiritual growth by recognizing the many negative masks that it wears. Shine the Light of your soul on it, and rise above it!
The ego, constantly produces negative thoughts that label, judge, misinterpret, and exclude others. Some of those thoughts turns into negative emotions such as fear, anger, depression, jealousy and so forth. If left UN disciplined, the ego truly can, and will, create hell on earth. The nature of our soul on the other hand, is serene, fearless, wise, non judgmental, and loving toward all life. If given the opportunity to govern our actions it will help us to create for ourselves: heaven on earth.
And so try and create a heaven on Earth for yourself. Observe your ego every time you feel it active. Every moment of every day. Observe its negative tendencies to overreact, yell, withdraw, be in control, judge. DON’T act on it. Do the opposite of what the ego wants you to do: Lose control! Instead, stay calm, non-reactive, and loving. Remember its sole purpose is helping you to grow.
When you do not feed the ego by doing what it wants, you will immediately create a clear path for the beautiful energy of your soul to emerge. You will actually feel that magical power that you hold within. When your actions and interactions are governed by your soul, it’s wisdom will help you produce a more positive outcome.
It is not an easy task to discipline the ego, after all we let it control us for many years and most likely for many lifetimes. But I assure you, that it is indeed possible.
It takes a serious commitment to do so and a great amount of hard spiritual work and dedication to succeed. But it is worth it! The more you observe your negative mind and take control of your inner space, the more the ego will lose it’s grip over you. Then, with time, as you align yourself with your soul, you will signal the universe of your intention to grow, and in return you will receive a great amount of guidance and support. And then you will find true joy!
